Brugian filariasis, is the name given for the filariasis caused by Brugia malayi and is suspected as a zoonotic filariasis. Once a human is positive for Brugian fialariasis, the patient and the residents in 500m radius will be treated. Simultaneously, animal (cats, dogs and cattle) blood surveillance will be conducted in the locality. If the animal is also positive for Brugia malayi, AFC has initiated discussions with the Department of Animal Production and Health to provide treatment to the affected animals
